Tuesday, March 3, 2020: Defining the Green New Deal: Creating Equitable Green Jobs

West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Blvd, Rocky River. 

The GND calls for the creation of jobs  retrofitting our buildings for energy efficiency, building a smart grid, manufacturing electric cars, increasing public transportation and more. How will the GND affect fossil fuel workers? Poverty wage workers? The Unemployed? Free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30pm for light refreshments and tabling information from area environmental groups.  

House Resolution 109 calls for the creation of millions of good, high-wage jobs to ensure prosperity and economic security for all people of the United States. What will that look like in Northeast Ohio? How can we move towards this crucial goal?

Deb Kline is the Director of Cleveland Jobs with Justice and President of POEIU Local 1794. She represents a coalition of labor, faith and community organizers for worker justice, immigration reform, and protecting undocumented workers.
